Split Airport (SPU) is the major airport in the area. There are frequent international connections into Split via major European hubs. The airport is about 30 minutes away from the city center with Taxi's, rental cars, and public transit available into the city.

If you rent a car, please keep in mind that parking in old European cities can be extremely limited. Check with your hotel to make sure they have parking.

Please check whether you require an International Driving Permit prior to travel. This can be obtained in person at a local AAA Auto Club and typically takes about 20 minutes.

Rental cars are generally affordable, averaging $20–30 per day. We recommend purchasing damage coverage or using a credit card that offers rental car insurance, as European rental agencies may charge for even minor wear.
